 | Located on 10 acres with stabling for 50 horses, Crossroads Farm is devoted to the Hunter Jumper discipline. |
 | This State-Of-The-Art facility is equipped with 3 large riding rings, one with lights, which can accommodate various schooling shows throughout the year. |
 | In addition, Crossroads Farm has 4 large 240 x 120 grass turnouts for grazing, 3 smaller turnouts, a round pen, and a hot walker, all available to boarders of the facility. |
 | Owner lives on-site. We're one of the few trainer-owned barns in Arizona. This gives us the flexibility to custom design feeding, care, and turn-out programs to cater to each horse's needs. | |
 |
 |
 | 3 barns - 2 with runs, and 3 with fans and misters for the horses' comfort throughout the year. |
 | We offer 3 different outdoor pen sizes, either fully or partially covered. |
 | We have indoor and outdoor wash racks with hot and cold water. |
 | There are six tack rooms on the premises to accommodate each of our boarders. |
 | Rounds are made each night after closing and someone is on the property at all times to ensure the safety of the horses. | |

Rachel Jansen Jones, Owner and Trainer |

Rachel founded Crossroads Farm in 1998, after working and showing for several hunter/jumper barns in Arizona and the Midwest for over 15 years.
She found that there was a need for an "A" Circuit barn in the East Valley, that catered to teaching Juniors and Amateurs all-around horsemanship, in addition to riding and showing.
"Our riders win at the State and Zone levels, but they also know how to bandage a leg, lunge their own horse, or treat a sick horse."
Rachel was President of the Arizona Hunter Jumper Association for 2 terms, and is currently a member of the United States Equestrian Federation, the United States Hunter Jumper Association, and the Arizona Hunter Jumper Association. Her students and horses have captured many year-end awards with the USEF, AHJA, and USHJA. Some of the highlights include winning the Sallie B. Wheeler Yearling Hunter Breeding Championship West Coast, coming in 3rd in the International Hunter Futurity Finals in Kentucky in the under saddle, winning the International Hunter Futurity West Coast Reserve Championship, qualifying Juniors for the National Junior Hunter Championship as well as the National Pony Finals, and numerous year-end Championships in the rated Hunter/Jumper Divisions, from Baby Greens, to 2nd Year Greens, to Junior Hunters, to Junior/Amateur Jumpers.
Crossroads Farm attends about 15-20 "A" rated shows each year, from AZ, to CA, to NM, as well as numerous schooling shows, so all levels of riders can achieve their goals. The farm also hosts schooling shows, warmblood inspections, and clinics with world-famous riders and trainers each year.

Shannon Alexander
Shannon had a successful Junior career in the Junior Hunters, Medals, and Junior Jumpers, before turning professional in the mid 90's. She ran her own teaching and show barn for several years, before pursuing her other interests, including acting and real estate. Shannon has many commericals, print ads, and several full-length motion pictures to her credit! Shannon eventually settled back in Phoenix, got married, had a child, and once again found herself pulled back to her first love- hunters and jumpers. We're lucky to have her here at Crossroads Farm as a trainer and instructor. She instills in her students the committment and discipline it takes to be successful in this sport, while passing on her own enthusiasm and passion for the horses themselves. |
Tamara Barrett
Tamara Barrett began riding with Carolyn McGinnis in 1989, at what would eventually become Crossroads Farm a decade later. She competed in the quarter horse circuit until 1993, until she decided to focus strictly on the hunter/jumper discipline. Tamara began training at Fox Mask Farm, where Rachel was an assistant trainer at the time. In 1998, when Rachel opened Crossroads Farm Tamara moved with her. She went on to show in the Children's hunters and in the Junior hunters. She began schooling horses and giving riding lessons to beginners in 2000, which I did until she left for college a couple years later. After college Tamara became the Finance Manager for a boat dealership in Mesa for eight years, but has always owned and ridden horses. Last year Tamara and her fiancé purchased a 2.5 acre horse property in San Tan Valley, where she rides her horse Baylee, and care for their large assortment of animals. "I am so excited to be back riding and teaching at Crossroads Farm! I look forward to meeting all the new faces around the barn," says Tamara. |
